Obedience is better than sacrifice, but some people will not listen. Few months ago NCC (Nigerian Communication commission) fined MTN one of africa's leading telecommunication company to a sum of 1.04 trillion naira for not disconnecting over 5million of their users who have not registered their lines.
Just December 2015 MTN filed a lawsuit against NCC and the money was dropped to 780bn naira and with the report i gathered MTN has finally paid 50bn naira out of it.
This is what the CEO of MTN Nigeria had to say about the money paid;
This is the most encouraging development. It demonstrates a willingness and sincerity by both parties to work together towards a positive outcome. We are hopeful at this stage. Along with the authorities, it is clear that we are collectively committed to working towards a solution that is of mutual benefits to all parties. Our industry in Nigeria is an incredibly important example of the remarkable progress in ICT particularly as a much needed catalyst for socio-economic growth and development at this time.
My own is that if you people have disconnected those users you won't be losing up to this amount and i'm sure over 60% of those people would have gone to register their lines.
