So, everyone thought the Beijing, china traffic jam was the longest in history but i recently learned that there was a longer one in france February 16, 1980 from Lyon to Paris, it strectched 109 miles(175km).
It should not be a surprise that something like this happened in china due to their large population and their increasing number of cars hitting the streets of china yearly. If my source was right, as of 2015, an estimated number of 7million cars were expected to hit the streets of Beijing, and about 14 million cars are purchased yearly.
The traffic jam as I heard was caused by trucks carrying coal to Beijing. Cars were said to have been moving a distance of 2 miles per day.
Imagine thinga that could have happened during the traffic take for example robbery, how hawkers coukd have made money because the drivers would have no option but to buy and eat.
